Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Supporting ALICE in Our Community
Share our Event
United Way of Greater Newark’s “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” initiative brings communities together to support ALICE (Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed) residents across 14 municipalities in Essex and Hudson counties. These hardworking individuals earn above the Federal Poverty Level but struggle to afford basic necessities like housing, childcare, and healthcare despite being employed. Through our door tag campaign featuring local ALICE data and nonprofit resources, we’re raising awareness and funds to address the specific needs of each community within our footprint.
Your contribution makes a direct local impact by funding vital community programs and services. We collaborate with local leaders to identify each municipality’s unique challenges and implement targeted solutions that help our neighbors thrive. Every donation supports both United Way of Greater Newark’s work and the nonprofit organizations serving your community.
