Newark Needs You: Donate to Help Fire Victims

Share our Event

On Sunday, September 28, a devastating fire tore through a nine-unit apartment building on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, leaving 50 of our Newark neighbors, including children and families, without a home. In a matter of hours, they lost everything: their possessions, their security, and the place they laid their heads at night. Now, as they face the overwhelming task of starting over, they are relying on the strength and compassion of our community to help them find their footing.

In direct response to this crisis, United Way of Greater Newark has established the Newark Fire Relief Fund. Our Board of Trustees has pledged to match every dollar donated up to $25,000, doubling the power of your gift. One hundred percent of your contribution will provide direct, essential support to these families, helping them with security deposits, furniture, clothing, and the resources they need to rebuild their lives with dignity. Let’s stand together and be the hope that lights their way forward.

Your gift is doubled up to $25,000, and 100% of every dollar goes directly to the 50 residents displaced by the fire.
